À luz teórico-metodológica da Historiografia da Linguística e de teóricas que discutem as relações entre o espanhol e o português do Brasil, como Maria Celada, Neide González e Maria Kulikowski, objetiva-se analisar parte da obra Grammatica da lingua espanhola para uso dos brasileiros (1920), de Antenor Nascentes, a fim de perceber sua organização, as afirmações sobre a linguagem nela contidas e sua repercussão na forma como concebemos a proximidade/afastamento entre os dois idiomas. Os resultados mostram que essa relação entre as duas línguas ainda é um entrave para o ensino do espanhol e para a produção de materiais didáticos.
Based on the Historiography of Linguistics and on scholars who discuss the relations between Spanish and Portuguese languages in Brazil, such as Maria Celada, Neide González and Maria Kulikowski, the objective here is to analyze part of the book Grammar of the Spanish language for use by Brazilians (1920), of Antenor Nascentes, in order to perceive its organization, the statements about language contained in it and its repercussion in the way we conceive the proximity/distance between the two languages. The results show that this relationship between the two languages is still an obstacle to the teaching of Spanish and to the production of teaching materials.
