Neste artigo desenvolvo uma reflexão sobre as noções de técnica e tecnologia inspirada na abordagem da antropologia simétrica, tendo como referência a etnografia de uma pesquisa na área de farmacognosia de plantas medicinais, envolvendo farmacólogos e uma comunidade ribeirinha localizada na região do Alto Amazonas. Essa iniciativa visa à produção de fitoterápicos e outros produtos naturais a partir de substâncias e compostos bioquímicos encontrados em espécies vegetais amazônicas, processo que envolve um conjunto de atividades de tradução de saberes.
In this article, I develop a reflection on the notions of technique and technology inspired by the approach of symmetrical anthropology, having as reference the ethnography of a research in the area of pharmacognosy of medicinal plants, involving pharmacologists and a riverine community located in the region of the Upper Amazon. This initiative aims at the production of phytotherapics and other natural products from substances and biochemicals found in Amazonian plant species, a process that involves a set of activities of translation of knowledge from one context to the other.
