Ao revisar as diferentes abordagens teóricas sobre desenvolvimento, apesar de não ser uma prática hegemônica, é digno de registro o fato que autores e obras da Economia e outras áreas ressaltam a dimensão espacial do desenvolvimento. Propõe-se contribuir no debate sobre desenvolvimento, sistematizando os aportes teórico-metodológicos centrados na dinâmica espacial, desde os clássicos até os contemporâneos. Os aportes teóricos, prefere-se classificá-los, como o conjunto de teorias clássicas da localização, as teorias do desenvolvimento regional com ênfase nos fatores de aglomeração e a produção recente em economia regional. Já os aportes metodológicos, restringe-se à indicação de alguns dos principais métodos de análise regional, a partir dos quais seja possível fazer estudos comparativos entre regiões.
When revising the different theoretical approaches on development, in spite of not being a hegemonic practice, it is worthy of registration the fact that authors and works of the Economy and other areas stand out the space dimension of the development. Intends to contribute in the debate on development, systematizing the theoretical-methodological contributions centered in the space dynamics, from the classic to the contemporaries. The theoretical contributions, it is preferred to classify them, as the group of classic theories of the location, the theories of the regional development with emphasis in the gathering factors and the recent production in regional economy. Already the methodological contributions, limits to the indication of some of the main methods of regional analysis, starting from which it is possible to do comparative studies among areas.
