O presente trabalho pretende discutir aspectos e possibilidades de leitura da
voz média e sua extensão como verbo depoente em latim. A partir das contribuições
de Suzanne Kemmer (1993) e de Rutger Allan (2002), ambas assentadas sob os
postulados de Givón, veremos que a complexidade da matéria – de certa forma
desprezada pelas gramáticas tradicionais das lÃnguas clássicas – será mais bem
entendida quando percebermos que sintaxe, semântica e pragmática cooperam
para a eficácia do uso e do entendimento da linguagem e quando classificarmos voz
média ou verbo depoente não a partir de definições generalizantes, antes a partir da
concorrência das matérias citadas, tentando ver como voz média ou verbo depoente
podem ser entendidos de forma prática, com as experiências de mundo. Por fim,
tentaremos estabelecer diálogos, quanto ao assunto, entre latim e português.
This paper aims to discuss features and possibilities of readings of the
middle voice and its extent as Latin deponent verb. From contributions of Suzanne
Kemmer (1993) and Rutger Allan (2002), both seated on Givón’s postulates, we will
see that the complexity of the matter – somehow looked down up by the traditional
grammars of the classical languages – be will better comprehended when we perceive
that syntax, semantic and pragmatic concur to the efficiency of the employment and
understanding of the language, and when we classify middle voice or deponent verb
not from generalized definitions, rather from affluence of the mentioned matters,
regarding as middle voice or deponent verb can be comprehended practically, with
the experience of life. At last, we will intend establish dialogues, for that matter,
between Latin and Portuguese language.
