Este estudo ocorreu pela necessidade de saber como vivem
os idosos no contexto familiar, nas comunidades rurais, no
municÃpio de Campos Borges, RS, cuja população idosa atinge
um percentual de 12,3% sobre a população geral, e o
contingente populacional rural é expressivo. Trata-se de uma
pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa que teve por objetivo
identificar os relacionamentos inter e intrafamiliares e o
envolvimento da famÃlia com o familiar idoso, e, ainda, buscar
subsÃdios que possam nortear as ações de atenção à saúde
do idoso, desenvolvida pela equipe do Programa Saúde da
FamÃlia (PSF) local. Para a coleta de dados, foi organizado um
ciclo de seminários nas comunidades rurais. As sÃnteses
extraÃdas dos seminários foram consideradas material de
estudo, cujos resultados apontam para a seguinte temática: o
relacionamento afetivo entre gerações no convÃvio familiar;
a influência da mÃdia nos relacionamentos; a escola não chega
ao meio rural, o interior vai virar um asilo de velhos; cuidados
com os mais velhos, uma tarefa solitária, sendo o suporte de
apoio, a rede de vizinhança e os benefÃcios da aposentadoria.
Novos rumos são apontados no sentido de nortear as ações
da equipe de PSF, a escola é chamada a participar dos debates,
para juntos, considerarem a problemática do abandono do
campo pelos jovens. É preciso pensar no apoio à s famÃlias
que cuidam de seus idosos no âmbito do domicÃlio
This study aimed at the need to know how the elderly
agricultural workers live within the family and communities
in Campos Borges town, Rio Grande do Sul state, whose
old population represents 12.3 percent of the general
population, being the rural contingent expressive. The aim
of this research is to identify the relationship among the
aged people within the family and the communities, and
look for subsidies, which can lead the actions of attention
to the health of the aged people developed by the team of
the Health Family Program (PSF) in this community. For
the data collection, seminars in the rural communities were
organized and the syntheses taken from the seminars were
considered as material of study, whose results were: the
affective family relationship, the influence of midia in
relationship, there are no schools in the rural communities,
the countryside will turn into an old folks home, the care
with the elderly is a lonely task, whose support comes from
the neighborhood, and the benefits from the retirement.
New directions are given so as to lead the actions of the
PSF team. The school is called to participate of the debates,
so that, they, together, can think about the problem of the
elderly farmers due to the young people exodus. It is
necessary to think about a support to the families who take
care of their aged people in their own homes.
