O artigo interpreta a autonomia a partir do quadro maior do
protestantismo, da missão, seu caráter puritano e sua relação
com a cultura norte-americana e brasileira destacando a contÃnua
importância de não somente promover um auto-governo,
auto-sustento e auto-propagação, mas uma teologia brasileira e
uma igreja com os traços culturais mais importantes.
This article interprets the autonomy starting from the wider
frame of the link of the Protestantism of mission and its Puritan
character with the north-American and Brazilian culture. It
stresses the continuing importance, not only to promote independence
related to church government, financial issues and
planning, but also a Brazilian based theology and a church with
the main cultural characteristics.
