As bacias hidrográficas vêm passando por diversas transformações de suas paisagens naturais por meio de intervenções antrópicas, o que acarretaperturbações ambientaisnos corpos hídricos. A bacia do Córrego da Cascata possui o maior fragmento florestal de Mata Atlântica do município de Presidente Prudente –SP, a mesma encontra-se em um cenário de transformação da paisagem por uso e cobertura da terra pelo aumento das atividades humanas como urbanização, pastagem para pastoril, agricultura perene e anual. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar os parâmetros físico-químicos e biológicos daságuas do córrego,que corta o Parque Ecológico Municipal Chico Mendes (Mata doFurquim). Conforme o IQA, os três pontosde estudosforam classificados como regulares ao longo do córrego. O índice BMWP classificou um ponto como ruim e dois pontos como águas regulares.

The hydrographic basins have been going through several transformations of their natural landscapes through anthropic interventions, which causes environmental disturbances in the water bodies. The Córrego da Cascata basin has the largest Atlantic Forest forest fragment in the municipality of Presidente Prudente –SP, it is in a scenario of landscape transformation through land use and land cover due to the increase in human activities such as urbanization, pasture for pastoral, perennial and annualagriculture. The aim of this study was to evaluate the physical-chemical and biological parameters of the waters of the stream, which crosses the Chico Mendes Municipal Ecological Park (Mata do Furquim). According to the IQA, the three study points were classified as regular along the stream. The BMWP index rated one point as bad and two points as regular waters.
