A BAIXA QUALIFICAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL É A RESPONSÁVEL PELO DESEMPREGO?

As mudanças no mundo do trabalho desencadeadas pela globalização diminuem a oferta de
postos de trabalho e responsabilizam o indivíduo pelo seu desemprego, dizendo-lhe que a sua
baixa qualificação profissional impede-lhe de encontrar uma ocupação. Com o objetivo de
testar essa hipótese neoliberal, foi realizado este estudo entre os egressos da primeira turma de
formandos de 2008, do curso de Administração de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior,
localizada em Osasco, SP. Os resultados mostram que 75% desses egressos estão atuando na
área administrativa e ocupando cargos de nível superior, porém a pesquisa de campo,
mediante aplicação de questionário, também revelou que há outros elementos interferindo no
processo de inserção dessas pessoas no mercado de trabalho.

The changes in the job market initiated by globalization reduce job offers and blame the
individual for his/her unemployment, saying that his/her low professional qualification is the
cause for not finding a job. With the objective of testing this neoliberal hypothesis, this study
investigated the first class of undergraduate students of 2008, in the Administration course of
a Higher Education Institution, located in Osasco, SP. The results show that 75% of these
former students are working in the administrative area and occupying positions of a higher
level, but the research, through the application of a questionnaire, has also revealed that there
are other elements interfering in the insertion process of these people in the job market.
