O mundo da música pop não está ligado aos problemas políticos e sociais da atual sociedade. É comum que canções desse gênero tragam temas como festa, sexo e relacionamentos amorosos, Katy Perry se encaixava nessa categoria, mas ao lançar Chained to the Rhythm, primeiro single do seu álbum, a cantora se torna uma das atuais cantoras do gênero a se rebelar e tentar criar uma ponte entre música pop e os problemas da sociedade moderna, que segundo a cantora, encontra-se presa no conforto e na ilusão. Este trabalho apresenta um breve apanhado das canções de protesto e faz uma análise da letra, lyric vídeo e videoclipe que ironizam diversas questões da atual sociedade, argumentação esta que abordará teóricos como Zygmunt Bauman, Leonidas Donskis e outros.
The pop music world isn’t linked to the political and social problems of today’s society. It’s common that the songs of this kind of music to bring themes such as parties, sex and romantic relationships, Katy Perry fit on this category, but when she released Chained to the Rhythm, the first single from her album, the singer became one of the current female singers of the gender to rebel and try to create a bridge between pop music and the problems of modern society, which according to the singer, is chained in comfort and illusion. This work presents a short research about the protest songs and an analysis of the lyric, lyric video and music video that ironize several issues of the current society, this argumentation approaches theoreticians such as Zygmunt Bauman, Leonidas Donskis and others.
