Lidando com um breve histórico da Sociologia do Direito na tradicional Faculdade de Direito do Recife, o artigo mostra suas etapas evolutivas sucessivas: anos primordiais; influência indireta da Faculdade de Direito do Recife no Instituto Joaquim Nabuco de Pesquisas Sociais e na Divisão de Ciência do Direito do Instituto de Ciências do Homem da Universidade do Recife (hoje Universidade Federal de Pernambuco); consolidação da disciplina Sociologia do Direito na Faculdade de Direito do Recife e no paÃs; tentativa de consolidação cientÃfica da Sociologia do Direito com origem na Faculdade de Direito do Recife e na Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, incluindo a visão substantiva de seu objeto e a axiomatização da Sociologia do Direito Teórica. A metodologia usada neste estudo se baseou na análise de material bibliográfico e na participação pessoal do autor no processo histórico (observação participante)
By dealing with a brief historical development of the Sociology of Law in the traditional Law School of Recife, the article shows its evolutive stages: the primordial years; the indirect influence of the Law School of Recife on the Joaquim Nabuco Research Institute of Social Sciences and on the Science of Law Division at the Sciences of Man Institute of the University of Recife (today Federal University of Pernambuco); consolidation of the discipline Sociology of Law in the Law School of Recife and in the country; attempt of scientific consolidation of the Sociology of Law originated from the Law School of Recife and from the Law School of the Catholic University of Pernambuco, including the substantive vision of its object and axiomatization of the Theoretical Sociology of Law. The methodology used in this study was based on the analysis of bibliographic material and on the personal participation of the author in the historical process (participant observation).
