Este trabalho tem como principal foco debruçar-se sobre a cidade de Buenos Aires no seu papel de grande metrópole latino-americana da Belle Époque argentina. Neste período a cidade de Buenos Aires foi à melhor expressão de riqueza material do país. Ela se diferenciará das metrópoles européias, pois nela o choque entre a modernidade e a pobreza será ainda mais dramático. A realização do mesmo está dividida em três partes. A primeira parte tratará das características do período de intenso crescimento, denominado de Belle Époque. A segunda enfocará a fase de fundação da cidade de Buenos Aires, com ênfase nas características da sua população inicial. Finalmente, a terceira examinará a transformação de Buenos Aires como expressão das mudanças experimentadas pelo país nesta fase de modernidade.
This work has as main focus to lean over itself on the city of Buenos Aires in its paper of great Latin American metropolis of Belle Époque Argentine. In this period the city of Buenos Aires was to the best expression of material wealth of the country. It will differentiate itself of the European metropolises, therefore in it the shock between modernity and the poverty will be still more dramatical. The accomplishment of the same is divided in three parts. The first part will deal with the characteristics of the period of intense growth, called of Belle Époque. Second it will focus the phase of foundation of the city of Buenos Aires, with emphasis in the characteristics of its initial population. Finally, third it will examine the transformation of Buenos Aires as expression of the changes tried for the country in this phase of modernity.
