CÂNCER INFANTIL E SEUS IMPACTOS NA RELAÇÃO CONJUGAL DOS PAIS

O câncer é um conjunto de patologias que incidem sobre o organismo, que levam o descontrole da proliferação celular. Esse quando acomete um indivíduo afeta também toda a família. Talvez uma das maiores dificuldades experimentadas pelos pais que acompanham o tratamento oncológico de um filho seja visualizar o futuro, encontrando sentido para suas próprias vidas e para a vida conjugal durante o mesmo. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi conhecer a percepção da mãe quanto às consequências que o diagnóstico de câncer do filho trouxe ao relacionamento conjugal. Nesse sentido investigaramse através de estudo de campo, qualitativo e exploratório, onze mães que acompanham seus filhos que estão em tratamento oncológico, e, são assistidas em uma fundação de amparo a criança com câncer no Norte de Minas. As idades das participantes variaram entre 23 a 55 anos, 91% das famílias possuem renda de um salário mínimo, sendo esse um dos motivos de serem assistidas na fundação. Quanto ao tempo de tratamento, todas iniciaram assim que receberam o diagnóstico. A descoberta mais recente foi há seis meses e a mais antiga 15 anos. Conclui-se que houve afastamento físico (55%), porém 73% das mães relataram que não houve afastamento emocional. Apesar da hipótese inicial de que haveria o afastamento emocional, os resultados dessa investigação indicaram que essas famílias desenvolveram estratégias de enfrentamento que reduziram a frequência do fenômeno.

Cancer is a group of diseases that affect the body, which lead the uncontrolled cellular proliferation. That when an individual also affects affects the whole family. Perhaps one of the greatest difficulties experienced by the parents accompanying the oncological treatment of a child is showing the future, finding meaning to their own lives and for the married life during the same. The objective of this research was to know the mother's perception about the consequences that the son's cancer diagnosis has brought to the marital relationship. Accordingly investigated through field study, qualitative and exploratory, eleven mothers accompanying their children who are in cancer treatment, and are assisted in a foundation of support to children with cancer in the Northern mines. The ages of the participants ranged from 23 to 55 years, 91% of families have a minimum wage income, which is one of the reasons they are assisted at the Foundation. As for the treatment time, all began as soon as we received the diagnosis. The latest discovery was six months and the oldest 15 years. It is concluded that there was physical clearance (55%), but 73% of mothers reported that there was no emotional remoteness. Despite the initial hypothesis that there would be the emotional remoteness, the results of this investigation indicated that these families have developed coping strategies that have reduced the frequency of the phenomenon.
