Introduction: Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease of unknown etiology. Literature data suggest a genetically based autoimmune dysfunction that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract, especially the terminal ileum and colon, causing patients with hypovitaminosis, consequent chronic bleeding from the digestive tract, dietary restrictions and low intestinal absorption. Objective:Determine, through a systematic review of cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, the nutritional changes present in patients with CD. Materials and Methods: Analysis of the most relevant studies originally published in English and Portuguese, from 2005 to 2016, with reference to the databases MEDLINE (National Library of Medicine) and SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online). In order to select the works with the most scientific evidence, we contemplate only cross-sectional and longitudinal studies. Results:From the review of the 12 articles of selected cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, we can see that as a result of the disease there is a considerable lack of mineral (copper, selenium, zinc) and vitamin (Vitamin D, B12, E) rates in patients with Crohn's disease. Conclusion: There is considerable vitamin loss in CD patients.
