O presente artigo discutea respeito das representações de Deus criadas na Bíblia Sagrada e no livro The Chronicles of Narnia –The horse and his boy–de Clive Staples Lewis. À guisa de comparação, busca, a partir de uma análise hermenêutica das imagens poéticas, pontos de aproximação e distanciamento entre as obras. Com o mesmo propósito da gênese de sua disciplina norteadora (Literatura Comparada), de evitar o isolacionismo nacionalista, constrói diálogos entre literatura anglófona e hebraica. Desta sorte, este trabalho poderá vir a contribuir com os estudos comparativos. À luz dos pressupostos teóricos de Nitrini (1997), Antonio Candido (2006), Auerbach (1971), Borges (1999), Paul Valéry (apud NITRINI, 1997), significa-se os símbolos teopoéticos criados nas obras, bem como, a influência de tais imagens na construção ontológica do ser humano em sociedade, tendo em vista a função total, social e ideológica da literatura.

This article discusses about the representations of God created in the Bible and in The Chronicles of Narnia -The Horse and His Boy by Clive Staples Lewis. By way of comparison, it seeks, from a hermeneutic analysis of poetic images, points of approximation and distance between works. With the same purpose of the genesis of its guiding discipline (Comparative Literature), of avoiding the nationalist isolationism, it constructs dialogs between Anglophone and Hebrew Literature. Therefore, this work may contribute to comparative studies. In the light of the theoretical presuppositions of Nitrini (1997), Antonio Candido (2006), Auerbach (1971), Borges (1999), Paul Valéry (apud NITRINI, 1997), the theopoetic symbols created in the works are defined, as well as, the influence of such images in the ontological construction of the human being in society, aware about the total, social and ideological function of literature.
