O presente trabalho analisa o cinema, que existiu na Cidade de Castanhal localizada no Estado do Pará entre os anos de 1938 e 1995, chamado Cine Argus. O qual foi um importante espaço para a realização de atividades envolvendo a cultura e o lazer da população. O período em que concentramos a nossa análise, a partir da documentação disponível, compreende as décadas entre 1960 e 1990, visto que a memória dos depoentes e a documentação acessada durante a pesquisa se refere a este período. Por meio do exame da memória oral, procuramos entender a relação do cinema com a modernização do espaço de Castanhal, bem como apontar sua influência no cotidiano da cidade e suas estratégias de sobrevivência. Dentre estas, destacamos uma que foi fundamental para a sua sobrevivência, a relação da sala de cinema com a Colônia Japonesa, discutindo a importância de sua atividade econômica para a Amazônia.
This paper analyzes the film , which existed in the Castanhal city in the state of Pará between the years 1938 and 1995, called Cine Argus . Which it was an important space for carrying out activities involving culture and leisure of the population. The period in which we focus our analysis, from the available documentation comprises the decades between 1960 and 1990 , as the memory of the deponents and accessed documents while searching refers to this period. Through the examination of the oral memory, we try to understand the film 's relation to the modernization of Castanhal space and point its influence in the city's daily life and their survival strategies. Among these, we highlight one that was essential for their surviva , the relationship of cinema with the Japanese colony, discussing the importance of their economic activity for the Amazônia.
