O presente artigo visa discutir as representações do feminino medieval no Cinema, e, para
tanto, foram selecionados os filmes Rei Arthur (2004) e Tristão e Isolda (2006). Inicialmente realiza-se
uma breve reflexão sobre a relação entre cinema e história e suas potencialidades. Após, debate-se o papel
do feminino a partir das personagens Guinevere e Isolda, considerando o que estas representam em
relação ao imaginário sobre o feminino no medievo e o que é possÃvel denotar sobre a percepção da
mulher a partir do contexto de produção dos filmes.
This article discusses the representation about the medieval feminine in the Cinema, and, with
this intention, were selected two movies: Rei Athur (2004) and Tristão e Isolda (2006). In the first place,
it will be a brief reflection about the relation between cinema and history and its benefits. After, it will be
debated about the women’s importance, analyzing two characters: Guinevere and Isolda. It will be
considered the representation of the imaginary about the feminine in the Middle Age and the perception
about women in the context of the movie’s production.
