A Boa Vista dos Negros é uma comunidade negra rural, situada no Município de Parelhas/RN, microrregião do Seridó. Há indícios mnemônicos e documentais que sugerem o último quartel do século XVIII como o momento em que a comunidade se formou, é, todavia, a partir da centúria que ali se desenrolam os processos educativos aqui abordados. Notadamente, a luta pelo acesso à educação formal representa, para a população local, uma forma de resistência às opressões de que são vítimas, em decorrência da situação étnico-racial do grupo. As análises aqui efetivadas tiveram como base as relações inter-raciais envolvendo a comunidade em foco, a observação da conjuntura socioeducativa seridoense e as políticas públicas voltadas para a ampliação de estabelecimentos de ensino no Brasil, além de inserções micro-históricas a partir da exploração da memória e da leitura combinada de variadas fontes documentais.
Boa Vista dos Negros is a rural black community, located in the municipality of Parelhas/RN, micro-region of Seridó. There are mnemonic and documentary evidences that suggest the last quarter of the 18th century as the moment when the community was formed, however, it is from the century that the educational processes discussed here take place. Notably, the struggle for access to formal education represents, for the local population, a form of resistance to the oppression of which they are victims, as a result of the ethnic-racial situation of the group. The analyzes carried out here were based on the interracial relations involving the community in focus, the observation of the socio-educational situation in seridoense and the public policies aimed at the expansion of educational establishments in Brazil, in addition to micro-historical insertions based on the exploration of memory and from the combined reading of various documentary sources.
