Este artigo trata de discutir as condições fÃsicas e de saúde dos escravizados na ParaÃba (1850-1888) a partir dos anúncios de escravos em periódicos. O texto é uma reflexão dos dados contidos nos anúncios de escravos, já que estes nos fornecem ricos detalhes que possibilitam verificar uma população constantemente atacada por problemas de saúde e castigos. Este estudo vai além dos sinais contidos nos anúncios, uma vez que é fundamental dar importância aos aspectos ambientais, à s condições sanitárias, aos regimes de trabalho, à s dietas alimentares que foram presentes no cotidiano dos escravizados na ParaÃba, para assim compreender melhor a temática.
This article comes to discussing the physical conditions and health of the enslaved in Paraiba (1850-1888) from advertisements of slaves in journals. The text is a reflection the data contained in advertisements the slaves, since they provide us with rich detail that allow a community constantly attacked by health problems and punishments. This study goes beyond the signs contained in the ads, since it is essential to give importance to environmental, health conditions, working arrangements, to the diets that have been present in daily lives of slaves in Paraiba, in order to better understand the topic.
