Com o avanço da robótica nas ultimas décadas, tornaram-se populares as competições entre robôs, que surgiramcom o intuito de incentivar o estudo e desenvolvimentotecnológico no meio acadêmico, bem como formação derecursos humanos para atuarem na robótica. Dentre asvarias modalidades de competições de robôs, esta a co-nhecida como sumô de robôs, que assim como no sumôhumano, o objetivo é consegui empurrar o oponente parafora do dojô, local onde acontece a luta. Visando anali-sar o desempenho de um robô dessa categoria, foi cons-truído um robô, o qual foi objeto desse estudo, e colocadoa participar de uma série competições. As lutas desserobô foram gravadas em vídeo e neles foi desenvolvidoum método de análise, aplicado neste estudo, de formaa extrair dados como quais é possível determinar quaiscompetências o robô em estudo precisa ser melhorado eem quais situações as falhas foram frequentes. Tambémfoi analisado quais fatores contribuíram para sua vitória,observou-se que certas características são muito particu-lares e variam de acordo com os componentes e matériasutilizados na construção. Foi concluído, com esses resul-tados, que melhorias na parte estrutural e sensorial preci-sam ser realizadas e que o robô precisará melhorar seudesempenho de velocidade, e para isso seria necessárioa troca dos motores, ou reconfiguração dos estágios deredução deste.
The more advanced robotic has been rising for the lastdecades, the more popular the robot competitions are be-coming, which have improving as the studies in the áreaand the technological development in the academic fieldas the formation of human resources to deal with robotics.Among the different kinds of robot competition category, the one known as sumo like the human contest, the objec-tive is pushing the opponent out of the dojo, where thefight happens. To analyze the performace of the sumorobot that was build it under this investigation and it wasput to take part of a series of competitions. The combatsof this robot were recorded and monitored to develop amethod of examination, which was evaluated in this re-search and the data that showed the built robot emergingskills out needed to be improved and under what circun-stances the failures were common. It was also analyzedthe peculiar reasons and characteristics of some equip-ment added in the robot that promote its victory. The re-sults of the study reveal that the structure and the sensorrequire enhancement and speed boost, so it will be nec-essary to change the robot engines or reconfigure theirstages and the reduction of them.
