Este texto utiliza modelo logit com variáveis agrupadas para analisar a relação entre a criminalidade e os indicadores econômicos e sociais dos reclusos da Penitenciaria Agrícola de Santarém, obtidos por meio de pesquisa de campo. Para verificar se existe uma regra ótima motivadora da criminalidade faz-se uso da metodologia proposta por Heckman. Com a aplicação do modelo econométrico observou-se uma maior relação entre crimes contra o patrimônio, descritos como crimes econômicos e as condições econômicas dos presos, observadas antes da ocorrência do delito. A aplicação de um modelo em dois estágios transcreve uma maior percepção da relação entre a categoria de crime estudada e as condicionantes econômicas da pesquisa.
The paper employs logit model with variables contained to analyze the relationship between the crime rate and the economic and social indicators of the recluse of the Agricultural Penitentiary of Santarém, obtained by means of field research. To observe a great rule of motivation of the crime rate it exists he/she makes himself use of the methodology of Heckman. With the application of the model econometrics a larger relationship was observed among crimes against the patrimony, described as economic crimes and the prisoners' economic conditions, observed before the occurrence of the crime. The application of a model in two apprenticeships transcribes a larger perception of the relationship between the studied crime category and the economic conditional of the research.
