A constituição da ciência histórica alemã no século XIX coincidiu com um
momento Ãmpar da própria história da Alemanha – o processo de unificação
polÃtica e de formação do Império – no qual a investigação histórica esteve direta
ou indiretamente relacionada à emergência do nacionalismo e à polÃtica prussiana.
Naquele perÃodo, duas escolas históricas se tornaram referências aos jovens
historiadores: a escola rankeana e a escola histórica prussiana. Este artigo
pretende caracterizá-las e discutir a formação da cultura historiográfica germânica
oitocentista tomando como referência a Historische Zeitschrift.
The constitution of the German historical science in the nineteenth century
coincided with an unprecedented moment of the history of Germany – the process
of political unification and formation of the Empire – in which historical research
was directly or indirectly related to the emergence of nationalism and Prussian
policy. At that time, two schools have become historical references to young
historians: the Rankean school and the Prussian Historical Pchool. This article aims
to characterize them and discuss the formation of the 19th
century Germanic
cultural historiography taking the Historische Zeitschrift like reference.
