Resumos Cadastrados

This article aims to provide an overview of the relationship between Cuba and the USA, seeking to point out its transformations throughout the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. We are going to try to observe the transition from an imperialist neo-colonial relationship, of USA to Cuba, to a highly conflicting and opposing relationship of worldviews/perspectives, inserted in the Cold War context. In addition, we will investigate at what level the Cuban Revolution changed the relationship between the two countries and at what level, on the other hand, the relationship with the United States influenced the development of the Cuban revolutionary process. Finally, we will pay attention to the consequences of the dissolution of the Soviet bloc to Cuba and the configuration of the relationship with the Americans at the end of the twentieth century and the first decades of the 21st.
