Por compreender a literatura enquanto forma de reflexo do mundo exterior na consciência humana, este artigo apresenta uma leitura da obra São Bernardo, de Graciliano Ramos, pela perspectiva da dialética marxista. Procuramos nos ater a uma análise do romance como representação da própria atividade humana, refletindo o mundo real, transfigurando-o no seu movimento, na sua evolução e desenvolvimento, considerando, aliás, que com isso a narrativa não se pretende verdade. Dessa forma, a leitura investigativa da referida obra literária busca pensar alguns aspectos da dialética marxista no romance a partir da leitura do seu narrador e protagonista: Paulo Honório, observando as suas relações, conflitos e trajetória de trabalhador alugado até proprietário da fazenda São Bernardo. Para tanto, o estudo está baseado nas teorias de Marx (2015), Lukács (2010), Candido (1956), Coutinho (1967) e Vedda (2014).
Understanding literature as a form of reflection of the external world in human consciousness, this article presents a reading of the work São Bernardo, by Graciliano Ramos, from the perspective of Marxist dialectics. We seek to stick to an analysis of the novel as a representation of human activity itself, reflecting the real world, transfiguring it into its movement, evolution and development, considering, in fact, that the narrative does not claim to be true. In this way, the investigative reading of the aforementioned literary work seeks to think about some aspects of the Marxist dialectic in the novel based on the reading of its narrator and protagonist: Paulo Honório, observing his relationships, conflicts and trajectory from rented worker to owner of the São Bernardo farm. To this end, the study is based on the theories of MARX (2015), LUKÁCS (2010), CANDIDO (1956), COUTINHO (1967) and VEDDA (2014)
