Six different brands of soft drinks were investigated for their concentration in caffeine, ranging from a minimum of 68.1 μg in lemon soft drinks to a maximum of 40, 30 mg of caffeine in cola, for 300 ml bottles. The spectrophotometric method for the determination of caffeine in the ultraviolet region (λ = 276,5 nm) was shown to be free of interference, good accuracy and reproducibility.
