Muitos teólogos se perguntam hoje: é possível admitir mulheres ao diaconato? A resposta a esta pergunta se revela complexa, pois alguns autores defendem que à luz da Bíblia e da história da Igreja, se possa afirmar a existência de um diaconato sacramental feminino. Este artigo tem com o objetivo apresentar brevemente a discussão atual sobre esta matéria, e analisar a validade ou não dos argumentos historiográficos que parecem legitimar a reintrodução do diaconato feminino na Igreja Católica.
Many theologians ask themselves today: Is it possible to admit women to the diaconate? The answer to this question is complicated, because some authors argue that under the light of the Bible and Church’s history, we can affirm the existence of a female sacramental diaconate. This article aims to briefly present the current discussion about this issue and examine the validity or not of the historigraphical arguments that seem to legitimize the reintroduction of female deacons in de Catholic Church.
