Tiflite é uma patologia descrita para pacientes neutropênicos, caracterizando-se por inflamação e necrose
transmural do Ãleo terminal, ceco e cólon ascendente. Apresentamos um relato de caso de um paciente
não-neutropênico submetido a apendicectomia por suspeita de apendicite aguda, evoluiu com abscesso intracavitário
e posterior perfuração de cólon, com diagnóstico anátomo patológico de tiflite ulcerativa aguda. A
tiflite é uma patogia rara em pacientes não-neutropênicos, necessitando alto grau de suspeição e tomografia
computadorizada para diagnóstico, devendo ser tratada clinicamente a princÃpio, reservando-se a cirurgia para
complicações.
Typhlitis is a disease described for neutropenic patients, characterized by transmural inflamation and necrosis
of distal ileum, cecum and right colon. Case report: non-neutropenic man underwent to appendectomy by
suspected acute appendicitis, developed intra peritoneal abscess and subsequent perforation of right colon,
with anatomopathological diagnosis of acute ulcerative typhlitis. The typhlitis is a rare disease in non neutropenic
patients, requiring a high degree of suspicion and realization of computadorized tomography for diagnosis
and should be treated medically first, saving surgery for complications.
