Objectives: Identify the knowledge of the nurse concerning the main problems of the nursing presented by hospitalized
people with the sickle cell diseases; correlate these problems to the nursing diagnosis from the North American Nursing
Diagnosis Association (NANDA 2009-2011) and to propose nursing care for the hospitalized person with the sickle cell
disease. Method: Qualitative approach, realized from february to june 2009 being held at HEMORIO. Fifteen nurses
were interviewed through an open question. The testimonies were treated by content analysis from Bardin and NANDA
(2009-2011). Results: A wide knowledge was verified concerning the problems of nursing presented, being a huge step
to the Nursing Assistance Systematization (SAE). It was proposed nursing care based on the nursery diagnosis commonly
presented by the people with the sickle cell disease. Conclusion: There is the imminent need to incorporate the
nursing assistance systematization to assure a qualified assistance, based on scientific, ethics and legal principles of
the profession.
