O artigo discute os desafios na conquista do direito universal e integral à saúde, uma preocupação mundial, e a implantação do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), que se dá num contexto em que as polÃticas públicas são orientadas pelos ideais neoliberais, segundo a lógica do mercado, ferindo os princÃpios constitucionais. Analisa a educação continuada em saúde como estratégia polÃtica para a formação dos trabalhadores da saúde explorando sua dimensão pedagógica como um caminho para fortalecer a participação e a democratização nas relações entre os atores.
The article discusses the challenges in the conquest of the universal and
integral right to health – a worldwide concern – and the implantation of the Brazilian
Health Unique System (Sistema Único de Saúde – SUS) that occurs in a context in
which the public politicies are guided by the neoliberal ideals, according to the market
logics, wounding the constitutional principles. The article also analyzes the permanent
education in health as a political strategy for the formation of the health workers in its pedagogical dimension as a way to fortify the participation and the democratization of
the relations among the actors.
