Resumo Inglês:

This work investigates some discourses
that emerged about the body, the
‘human motor’, energy and fatigue in
Argentina between the late nineteenth
and early twentieth centuries. Based
on this inquiry an attempt is made to
show how the hybrid nature of these
scientifically purified formulations
participated in the construction of
biopolitical knowledge (organic
economy) that projected the body in
relation to production (capitalism) and
the nation (state). Similarly, it analyzes
the discourses on fatigue and training
in an attempt to pinpoint limitations
of areas of knowledge based on a
Cartesian split.
