Através dos principais acontecimentos deste século que influenciaram nas mudanças da gestão do patrimônio no Brasil, com a influência recente de Portugal, este artigo propõe a leitura e compreensão das estratégias e táticas empregadas pelas políticas públicas, pelo mercado imobiliário e pela indústria do turismo cultural na disputa por patrimônio urbano com os movimentos sociais presentes nesse espaço que, por sua vez, elaboram ações de resistência e propostas de coexistência, firmando seu direito à moradia e seu papel determinante na expressão cultural que nosso patrimônio possui.
Through the main events of this century that influenced the changes in the management of the patrimony in Brazil, this article propose the reading and understanding of the strategies and tactics employed by public policies, the real estate market and the cultural tourism industry in the dispute over urban heritage with the social movements, present in this space, which, in turn, elaborate resistance actions and proposals for coexistence, establishing their right to housing and their determining role in the cultural expression that our heritage possesses.
