A bacia do ribeirão Ãgua das Antas encontra-se no centro-norte do estado
do Paraná, na transição do Segundo para o Terceiro Planalto Paranaense, nas
bordas planálticas da bacia sedimentar do Paraná. Na presente pesquisa, foram
identificados os compartimentos geomorfológicos da bacia, os quais foram
mapeados e analisados, verificando a influência de possÃveis eventos neotectônicos
e paleoclimáticos na gênese do mesmo. Verificou-se que os conjuntos litotÃpicos
presentes na bacia são facilmente associados à morfologia da paisagem e fortemente
condicionados ao ambiente geoestrutural. Os diferentes litotipos apresentam grau
diferencial de resistência ao intemperismo e erosão, refletindo diretamente no
modelado do relevo. A presente pesquisa justifica-se pela ausência de mapeamentos
geomorfológicos no Norte-Central Paranaense, além da falta de estudos que
busquem compreender a evolução da paisagem nas bordas planálticas.
The river basin Ãgua das Antas is located in the central north of the Parana state, at
the transition from the Second to the Third Plateau in Paraná, in the plateau border of
the sedimentary basin of Parana. This research identified the basin geomorphological
compartments which were mapped and analyzed, verifying the influence of possible
neotectonic and paleoclimatic events at their genesis. It was found that the lithotype groups found in the basin are easily associated to the landscape morphology and
strongly conditioned to the geostructural environment. The different lithotypes show
a differential degree of resistance to weathering conditions and erosion, reflecting
directly on the relief surface. This research is justified not only by the absence of
geomorphological mapping in the central north of Parana but also by the lack of
studies that seek to understand the evolution of the landscape in the plateau border.
