O presente estudo objetivou investigar a importância da música como ferramenta de ensino em nossas escolas, ressaltando um breve histórico do seu ensino através dos tempos, dando destaque ao cenário brasileiro. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa de cunho bibliográfico, com renomados autores no assunto, a saber: Chiarelli (2005), Fucci-Amato (2012), Kiefer (1997), Loureiro (2013) dentre outros. A pesquisa pretendeu contar um breve relato da história da música, afirmando a sua relevância na realidade escolar.
