Poultry productionand trade has become a profitable alternative for family farmers, as it needs low investment and little labor. However, the lack of an analysis of investments used in rural areas hinders production planning and maintenance.Thus, the objective of this study was to identify the level of education, socioeconomic profileand analyze the income obtained from small broiler producers raised in a semi-intensive system, atmunicipalities of Santana do Ipanema and São José da Tapera, state of Alagoas. The research was carried out with 18 cooperative producers and residents in the municipalities at Santana do Ipanema and São José da Tapera, state of Alagoas, which produce free-range broilers, raised in the semi-intensive system for a period of 90 days.During the months of January to October 2019, they housed 5,083 birds, with a mortality of 4.68% and produced a total of 10,759 kg of carcasses, which were sold for R$ 107,590.00 and had an expense of R$ 72,127, 75. Most expenses were represented by the purchase of the feed, and the average consumption per bird was 8.83kg. The purchase price was R $ 1.34/kg of feed and the average feed conversion of 3.18 kg of feed / kg of live weight. Most production is delivered to cooperatives (about 95%), the rest is sold on their own or for family consumption. During this period, the net profit obtained was R$ 35,462.25, an average of 32.96% of earnings. Most producers have a low level of education. In relation to spending and profits on the production of free-range chicken, it was found that in 2019 the producers obtained an average net profit of 1/3 of the total value obtained and the largest expense invested was in the purchase of the feed. The activity proves to be attractive, given the net profit of the producers, however, there is a dependence on the commercialization of most of the productsfor government purchase programs, which confers risks to the continuous production, in case of suspension or delay in onlendingto these programs.

O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar os rendimentos obtidos a partir da produção de frango de corte em sistema semi-intensivo, em municípios do sertão de Alagoas. A pesquisa foi realizada com 18 produtores cooperados e residentes nos municípios de Santana do Ipanema e São José da Tapera, estado de Alagoas, os quais produzem frango de corte de linhagem caipira, criados no sistema semi-intensivo por um período de 90 dias. Durante os meses de janeiro a outubro de 2019 eles alojaram 5.083 aves, tendo uma mortalidade de 4,68% e produziram um total de 10.759 kg de carcaça, os quais foram vendidos pelo valor de R$107.590,00 e tiveram como despesa R$ 72.127,75. O gasto maior nas despesas foi na compra da ração, onde o consumo médio por ave foi de 8,83 kg, comprado ao valor de R$1,34 o quilo, com uma conversão alimentar de 3,18 (quilos de concentrados consumidos para produzir um quilo de frango vivo). A maior parte da produção é entregue às cooperativas (cerca de 95%), o restante é vendido por conta própria ou para o consumo da família. Durante esse período o lucro líquido obtido foi de R$ 35.462,25, uma média de 32,96% de rendimentos.
