The aim of this work is to review the editions of the mediaeval texts in prose (literary and documentary) and too the texts of the so called Dark Centuries (XVI-XVIII) in Galicia. The mediaeval production was very big, but very few literary texts subsisted until today; all of them were already edited, with greater or lesser ecdotic success. It is different the case of the thousands of notarial documents scattered by distinct Galician and Spanish archives: a number of them have been published, but only a small proportion were edited with philological criteria, respecting their linguistic characteristics. Lastly, the heterogeneity, the difficult of their collection and the low literary value of the texts of the Early Modern Galician has resulted in the fact that in part they have been poorly edited, although progress have been made in the last years in this field. In all of these processes the Instituto da Lingua Galega (ILG - University of Santiago de Compostela) has had a fundamental role, both as in the philological editions of the edited texts and in the projects in course.
