Resumos Cadastrados

Resumo Inglês:

In this issue, we are pleased to announce that Revista Ambiente & Água has acted upon previous recommendations and taken all of the steps necessary to fully conform with SciELO Brazil collection requirements. Those steps included increasing the frequency of publication and broadening the editorial staff’s thematic and geographic coverage, to include augmenting the Editorial Board with professionals that have greater expertise in the life sciences and engineering of water, sanitation, environmental resources, and biological sciences. The journal was also advised, if possible, to seek professionals outside of the State of São Paulo and to increase Hispanic representation on the Editorial Board.
We previously published three issues per year, but to conform to the recommendations in 2014 we increased publication to four issues per year. In addition to the increased publication schedule, we continuously strive to reduce the time between submission and publication. Thus, while only two-thirds of 2014 has passed, we have already published three-quarters of the journal’s annual total articles (45/60 articles).
The Editorial Board has increased from its original 15 members to the current 28, and we are still in the process of inviting additional members from the European Community. The thematic expertise of the Board has been significantly increased, and the Board now includes members from ten different countries (Brazil, Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovak, Romania, Argentina, China, Iran and United States).
The résumés of our Board members may be reviewed at: http://www.ambi-agua.net/seer/index.php/ambi-agua/about/editorialTeam. They are available in three languages (English, Portuguese, and Spanish) by selection from the right column menu.
In addition to the Editorial Board, we have more than 660 highly qualified peer reviewers working with the journal. These include a wide range of interdisciplinary thematic expertise and represent a broad and diverse geographic spectrum.
The current issue includes 15 peer reviewed articles with “doi” registration, five in English, one in Spanish and nine in Portuguese. The articles each include an abstract in English and Portuguese, and collectively encompass a wide range of multidisciplinary subjects. We continue to promote the visibility of the articles in several search engines and academic and social networks.
We wish to sincerely thank all previous Editorial Board members for their support and dedication over the past eight years, and we welcome our new members and look forward to working with them. The journal has come a long way since its inception, and our continued efforts will assure that it achieves appropriate recognition in the international community.
