O presente estudo aborda a educação para o trânsito e tem como objetivo analisar o
comportamento de condutores de veÃculos automotivos e pedestres, especialmente
próximo a escolas, onde se verifica grande fluxo de pedestres e motoristas ao se
dirigirem a este local no horário de aula no qual contribui para que conflitos e
acidentes aconteçam. Nessa perspectiva, a metodologia para a realização desta
pesquisa foram levantamento bibliográfico, registros fotográficos, observação,
tabulação de dados e também a aplicação de 100 questionários em trabalho de
campo, no mês de junho de 2007, com a finalidade de entender a realidade da
circulação na proximidade de uma escola localizada em Uberlândia – MG. A
pesquisa demonstra que a educação para o trânsito é necessária para diminuir os
conflitos entre motoristas e pedestres, pois isso só se daria através de uma
mudança de hábito e comportamento que desse prioridade à vida. Os resultados
afirmam a importância da mudança de conduta por meio da educação para o
trânsito. Como já foi assinalado, os deslocamentos dos pedestres devem ocorrer nas
calçadas e na faixa de pedestres destinada a eles. Assim, os motoristas precisam
respeitar a faixa de pedestres e a sinalização como também efetivar a mudança de
comportamento e atitudes de motoristas e pedestres não só através da escola, mas
também de polÃticas públicas eficientes para diminuir a insegurança no trânsito.
The present study discusses the education for the transit and has as objective to
analyze the behaviors of vehicles conductors and pedestrians, especially next the
schools, where it’s verified a great flow of pedestrians and drivers directing to this
place in the class schedule which contributes to conflicts and accidents. In this
perspective, the methodology for the accomplishment of this research had been
bibliographical survey, photographic registers, comment, application of data tables
and also the application of 100 questionnaires in field work, in the month of June of
2007, with the purpose to understand the reality of the circulation in the proximity of a
school located in Uberlândia - MG. The research demonstrates that the education for
the transit is necessary to diminish the conflicts between drivers and pedestrians,
therefore this would only give through a change of habit and behavior that give
priority to life. The results affirm the importance of the change of behavior by means
of the transit education. As already it was designated, the displacements of the
pedestrians must occur in the sidewalk and the band of pedestrians destined they. Thus, the drivers need to respect the band of pedestrians and the signaling as well
as to accomplish the change of behavior and attitudes of drivers and pedestrians not
only through the school, but also of efficient public politics to diminish the unreliability
in the transit
