A participação cidadã sob a lente do Individualismo metodológico de Hayek demonstra que são os indivíduos quem tem a capacidade de agir e interagir, sendo estes agentes de mudança no contexto social. Nesse sentido, os tipos de motivações dos mesmos em se envolverem nas questões públicas da sua comunidade impactam os diferentes níveis de participação. Ademais, a premissa que norteia este ensaio é a ideia de que maiores níveis de participação estimulam a democracia para o exercício de uma cidadania ativa, e esta cidadania oportuniza mais participação, gerando assim o que chamamos de efeito bumerangue.
Citizen participation under the lens of Hayek's methodological Individualism demonstrates that individuals are the ones who have the capacity to act and interact, being these agents of change in the social context. In this sense, the types of motivations they have for getting involved in public issues in their community impact the different levels of participation. Furthermore, the premise that guides this essay is the idea that higher levels of participation stimulate democracy for the exercise of active citizenship, and this citizenship provides opportunities for more participation, thus generating what we call the boomerang effect.
