ELETROESTIMULAÇÃO DE BAIXA INTENSIDADE PARA REDUÇÃO DE TUMOR EM UM CÃO

Corrente elétrica de baixa intensidade é utilizada em pesquisas científicas atuais como tratamento
alternativo para a redução da massa tumoral. Neste relato, a eletricidade de baixa intensidade foi aplicada sobre a
superfície do tumor venéreo transmissível (TVT) localizado na região genital de uma cadela sem raça definida.
Devido ao volume considerável do tumor, a eletroestimulação foi aplicada somente na metade inferior do lábio
esquerdo da vulva, em três sessões de oito minutos de duração. A corrente elétrica contínua de baixa intensidade
foi um método efetivo para a diminuição do tumor venéreo transmissível de uma cadela.

Low-intensity electric current is used in current scientific research as an alternative treatment for
the reduction of tumor mass. In this report, the electricity at low intensity was applied on the surface of the
transmissible venereal tumor (TVT) located in the genital region of a mixed breed dog. Due to the size of tumor,
the electrical stimulation was applied only in the lower half of the left lip of the vulva in three sessions of eight
minutes. The continuous electric current at low intensity was an effective method to decrease the transmissible
venereal tumor of a female dog.
