O artigo discute a construção do passado e a busca pelas origens no município de Petrolândia, no Alto Vale do Itajaí, em Santa Catarina. No final do século XX e início do século XXI, identificamos o despertar de um interesse, manifestado pela administração pública, pelo passado histórico do município, num contexto regional marcado pela busca e afirmação de identidades locais como fator de promoção cultural e desenvolvimento econômico
The article discusses the construction of the past and the search for origins in the town of Petrolândia in Alto Vale do Itajaí, Santa Catarina. In the late twentieth century and early twenty-first century, we identified the awakening interest manifested by the public administration, of the historical past of the city, in a regional context marked by the search and assertion of local identities as cultural promotion and economic development factor.
