Esse artigo discute a relação entre história e literatura a partir da semiótica filiada à matriz de linha francesa. Como teoria da significação, a semiótica volta-se para a problemática do sentido na linguagem, mas também para o sentido que os sujeitos produzem em sua relação com o mundo. Suas formulações são aqui mobilizadas para se pensar as perspectivas da história e da literatura frente aos textos e ao contexto, compreendido como exterioridade. Abarcando essas reflexões, analisa-se o conto O cego Estrelinho, de Mia Couto.
This article discusses the relationship between history and literature from the semiotics affiliated to the French line matrix. As atheory of significance, semiotics turns itself to the issue of the meaning in language, but also to the meaning that subjects produce in their relationship with the world. Semiotic's formulations are here mobilized to think the perspectives of history and literature in front of to the textsand context, understood as external.
