Este trabalho se refere a uma pesquisa que busca analisar a relação entre emoção, afetividade e o processo de ensino e aprendizagem, sinalizando a relevância e o impacto da dimensão emocional no desenvolvimento cognitivo do educando. Este é um estudo teórico de cunho bibliográfico, que tem com o suporte referencial leituras na área da psicologia, educação e neurociência, cujo objetivo é conduzir a uma reflexão acerca da importância da afetividade e das emoções no processo de ensino e aprendizagem a considerar que o aluno é um ser cheio de sentimentos que precisam se aflorar junto com a cognição. Os teóricos Moscovici, 2004, Goleman (2001), Gottman, 2001, Antunes (2000), José e coelho (2002), Cosenza e Guerra (2011) , Pinto (2004), Branden (2000), Arantes (2000), Wallon (1979),deixam entrever a indissociabilidade entre os aspectos cognitivos, emocionais e afetivos no processo de ensino - aprendizagem. Em virtude disso é que se defende a utilização de práticas pedagógicas baseadas na dimensão emocional porque o processo educacional é também um processo afetivo.

This work refers to a research that sought to analyze the relationship between emotion, affectivity and the teaching and learning process, signaling the relevance and impact of the emotional dimension in the cognitive development of the student. This is a theoretical study of a bibliographic nature, which has as a reference support reading in the area of psychology, education and neuroscience, whose objective is to lead a reflection on the importance of affectivity and emotions in the teaching - learning process and consider that the student it is a being full of feelings that need to emerge together with cognition. The consulted theorists reveal the inseparability between cognitive, emotional and affective aspects in the teaching - learning process. As a result, it is advocated the use of pedagogical practices based on the emotional dimension because the educational process is also an affective process.
