Este artigo pretende trabalhar com a correspondência trocada entre a primeira superiora das Filhas de Caridade de São Vicente de Paulo de Mariana (MG) e a sede da congregação em Paris. Por meio desta correspondência é possível perceber o caminho trilhado pelas doze irmãs desde Paris até o local do destino. As impressões ao longo da viagem demonstram as diferenças culturais entre as vicentinas e as pessoas dos locais por onde passavam. Embora tivessem a orientação de manutenção da cultura organizacional para o bem desempenho da obra, tiveram que sofrer algumas adaptações para serem aceitas em Minas Gerais. Exemplifica-se a adaptação por meio do ensino do piano e a aceitação quando já não eram mais atormentadas pelos bichos de pé. Verifica-se como o fortalecimento das Irmãs Vicentinas esteve ligado à adaptação cultural de seus princípios aos desejos das famílias mineiras na segunda metade do século XIX.
This paper intends to work with the correspondence between the first superior of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul of Mariana (MG) and the seat of the congregation in Paris. Through this correspondence you can see the path taken by the twelve sisters from Paris to the place of destination. Impressions along the way demonstrate the cultural differences between the Vincentian people and places as they went. Although they maintain the orientation of organizational culture for the good performance of the work, had to undergo some changes to be accepted in Minas Gerais. Exemplifies the adaptation by teaching piano and acceptance when they were no longer tormented by ticks. It can be seen as the strengthening of the Vincentian Sisters was linked to its principles of cultural adaptation to the wishes of the mining families in the second half of the nineteenth century.
