Na IlÃada, de Homero, há uma constante interferência, por vezes direta, dos deuses no mundo dos mortais. Já no filme Troy, de Wolfgang Petersen, podemos observar uma “mortalização†destas divindades, quando não uma completa ausência destas. Ao analisar algumas cenas do filme e alguns trechos do livro de forma comparativa, encontrando semelhanças e diferenças na representação da imortalidade nas duas obras, é possÃvel compreender as intenções de cada autor em cada contexto. O objetivo deste artigo é historicizar e compreender as escolhas que o diretor da obra cinematográfica fez ao estabelecer estas representações, que fazem a pelÃcula tomar um rumo um pouco diferente daquele traçado na narrativa de Homero.
At Homer’s Iliad there is a constant interference, sometimes a direct one, of the gods in the mortal world. Meanwhile, in Wolfgang Petersen’s movie, “Troyâ€, we may observe a ‘mortalization’ of these deities, if not a complete absence of them. By analyzing some scenes of the film and some excerpts from the book in a comparative way, finding similarities and differences in the representation of immortality in both works, it’s possible to understand the intentions of each author in each context.This article aim is to historicize and comprehend the choices made by the director of this cinematographic work to establish these representations, which make the film to take a little different direction than that of the Homer’s narrative.
