A partir da figura do entre-dois consignada na obra de Sibony, propõe-se uma leitura não contrastiva da problemática do cânone aplicada à narrativa portuguesa mais recente, a qual parece querer caminhar no sentido da legitimação de um entre-dois canónico, fazendo confluir, no espaço concreto da sua textualidade, o sentido de inovação que lhe é próprio e o peso de uma tradição implícita ou explicitamente convocada.

By evoking Sibony's figure of the between-two, we suggest a non-contrastive reading of the literary canon, illustrating it with the most recent Portuguese narrative fiction which appears to be moving towards the legitimation of a canonical between-two. Thus, in the concrete space of its textuality, both its distinctive sense of innovation and the weight of tradition, whether implicitly or explicitly referred to, flow together.
