Macunaíma permanece como objeto de interesse e desafio para a crítica. Estudado como obra-síntese do movimento de 22, é chave para compreensão da relação entre as gerações modernistas, seus projetos estético-ideológico e o próprio projeto andradiano, ocupando, portanto, lugar síntese na investigação da obra de Mário e do(s) nosso(s) Modernismo(s). Esse artigo visa, assim, analisar autor e obra nesse trânsito a partir do estudo das gerações modernistas feito por Lafetá e revisitado por Bueno, assim como operacionalizar a leitura crítica a partir da edição crítica organizada por Telê A. Lopez.

Macunaíma remains as object of interest and challenge to criticism. Studied as a synthetic work of the Movement of 1922, it is the key for understanding the relationship between the modernist generations, their aesthetic-ideological projects and the Andrade’s project itself, thus occupying a place of synthesis in the investigation of the work of Mario and of Brazilian(s) Modernism(s). This article aims, therefore, to analyze author and work in the transit from the study of Modernists by Lafetá, reviewed by Bueno, as well as to operationalize the critical reading from the critical edition organized by Telê A. Lopez.
