A literatura especializada, em geral, designa o trabalho creditado a Tomás Antônio Gonzaga ao gênero satírico, mesmo antevendo-se o indi-cativo do título, cartas. Contudo, ao analisarmos mais de perto a obra e os demais aspectos que a compõem percebemos delimitações de outros gêneros textuais, como o epistolar, e até mesmo a crônica e o histórico-documental. O presente trabalho visa analisar a presença do gênero satírico nas Cartas Chilenas e sua coexistência com o gênero epistolar na obra de Gonzaga. Partindo da reflexão de ambos os gêneros, faremos uma análise da sátira e da epístola para, a partir da conceituação de ambos os gêneros, apresentar a hibridização como fenômeno que se aplica ao nosso objeto.
In general, the specialized literature refers the work credited to Tomás Antônio Gonzaga to the satiric genre, even foreseeing the indication of letters in the title. Nevertheless, taking a closer look at the work and the other aspects that compose it we noticed other different textual genres as the epistolary and even the chronicles and the historical-documentary. The present study aims to analyses the satiric genre presence in the Chileans Letters and their coexistence with the epistolary genre into Gonzaga’s work. Starting from the both genres reflection and their conceptuzlization we will analyze the satiric and epistolary genres to present the genre hybridization as a phenomenon that applies in our object.
