Objetiva-se investigar a função social dos Arquivos como lugar de memórias, ações funcionais dos profissionais da informação no trato da documentação Arquivística e as relações entre as instituições e a sociedade do entorno, expondo entrevistas como documentos orais. Enfatizaram-se aspectos arquivísticos, sua evolução, incumbências, modelos, funções governamentais na preservação de memórias orais de profissionais. Procurou-se clarificar a importância que a instituição deveria dar ao lugar de memórias no contexto profissional dos arquivos e a importância das entrevistas orais como viabilizadora das políticas de integração do Estado brasileiro para a História do país. Partiu-se de um estudo de caso que contribuiu para a pesquisa do mestrado e da bibliografia escrita por militares, composta por discursos, documentos, revistas, livros de memórias, entrevistas e monografias para a elaboração deste artigo. Para suporte da fundamentação teórica, recorreu-se a autores que realizam uma análise dos diversos aspectos Arquivísticos. Esta pesquisa justifica-se por defender a importância dos arquivos na preservação oral de entrevistas dos profissionais que atuaram na aviação brasileira, pois a memória dos seus atos laboriais deveriam ser preservados e estimulados pela instituição. O ineditismo dessa pesquisa com entrevistas explica-se pela extensão da pesquisa original, mostra técnica básica usada para colher informações orais.

Resumo Inglês:

The objective is to investigate the social function of archives as a place of memories, functional actions of information professionals in dealing with archival documentation and the relations between the institutions and the surrounding society, exposing interviews as oral documents. Archival aspects, their evolution, tasks, models, governmental functions in the preservation of oral memories of professionals were emphasized. We sought to clarify the importance that the institution should give to the place of memories in the professional context of archives and the importance of oral interviews as enabling the policies of integration of the Brazilian state for the history of the country. It was based on a case study that contributed to the research of the master and the bibliography written by the military, composed by speeches, documents, magazines, memoirs, interviews and monographs for the elaboration of this article. To support the theoretical foundation, we resorted to authors who perform an analysis of the various archival aspects. This research is justified by defending the importance of the archives in the oral preservation of interviews of professionals who worked in Brazilian aviation, because the memory of their work acts should be preserved and stimulated by the institution. The unprecedentedness of this interview research is explained by the extent of the original research, showing basic technique used to collect oral information.
