O presente artigo apresenta a esponsalidade de Cristo com a Igreja no perÃodo da patrÃstica. Nesse perÃodo encontram-se elementos teológicos acerca da Igreja vista como Virgem, Mãe e Esposa de Cristo. É também esboçada uma relação de complementariedade entre a idéia do Corpo de Cristo e da Igreja como sua Esposa. Santo Inácio de Antioquia, Clemente Romano, Irineu de Lião, Hegesipo, Tertuliano, Novaciano, Cipriano, Clemente de Alexandria, OrÃgenes, Metódio de Olimpo, DÃdimo de Alexandria, Ambrósio, Agostinho e Leão Magno são os autores citados no escrito em razão da importância que dão em seus escritos ao tema abordado.
This paper presents the nuptial of Christ with the Church in the patristic period. This period are about theological elements of the Church seen as Virgin, Mother and Spouse of Christ. It also outlined a relationship of complementarity between the idea of the Body of Christ and the Church as his Bride. St. Ignatius of Antioch, Clement, Irenaeus of Lyons, Hegesippus, Tertullian, Novatian, Cyprian, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Methodius of Olympus, Didymus of Alexandria, Ambrose, Augustine and Leo the Great are the authors cited in the brief because of the importance in his writings that give the theme.
