Este artigo apresenta os resultados de pesquisa teórica e empÃrica a respeito do estágio como forma de inserção no mercado de trabalho. Valendo-se de autores crÃticos ao sistema capitalista, visa discutir o estágio como mecanismo de transição da educação para o trabalho; também objetiva apreender os conceitos, o condicionamento jurÃdico e as opiniões dos atores envolvidos com o estágio. Além de uma discussão teórica, são utilizados dados de pesquisas exploratórias recentes, realizadas com estudantes e trabalhadores da cidade de Guarapuava - PR, concluindo que o estágio apresenta-se como um canal importante de inserção profissional que contribui para a formação profissional, mas que também se presta para flexibilizar as relações de emprego e precarizar as condições de inserção e permanência no mercado de trabalho.
The present study reveals the results of a theoretical and field research about training as a means of insertion in the market. Based on the work of authors that criticize the capitalist system, our article aims at discussing the training as a mechanism of transition from education to labor; it also seeks to understand the concepts, the judicial conditioning, and the opinions of the trainees. Recent research data was used along with a theoretical discussion of the issue. The data were collected with students-workers from the city of Guarapuava, state of Paraná. Our conclusion was that training is an important means of professional initiation that consequently assists professional formation. However, it also loosens the work relations and reduces the opportunities for insertion and permanence in the market.
