O presente artigo, tem por objetivo compreender a importância da estética nos cuidados paliativos como elemento de resgate da autoestima e da qualidade de vida do paciente que encontra-se em estado terminal e que não possui mais possibilidade terapêutica de cura. O uso das terapias estéticas pode ser muito valioso para o paciente, pois cuida do bem estar, valorizando sua imagem, contribuindo para que este tenha um processo menos sofrido da morte. Neste contexto, trabalhar a estética e a cosmética associada ao cuidado paliativo, pode contribuir de maneira positiva para um alívio psicológico dos pacientes, trabalhando técnicas de visagismo, micropigmentação, maquiagem, entre outros. A estética neste sentido pode trabalhar juntamente com outros profissionais, visando a promoção da saúde do paciente e garantindo a este não apenas um bem estar físico, mas principalmente emocional. Ao final do estudo, observa-se que muitas são as técnicas a serem utilizadas pelo profissional, que envolvem alivio de dores, sintomas, cuidados com a pele, cabelo, que mesmo não tendo ligação direta com o tratamento contribuem para que o paciente sinta-se melhor, o profissional de estética dentro deste contexto, apresenta-se como elemento fundamental na equipe multiprofissional, pois contribui para uma melhor qualidade de Cida dos pacientes, atuando na contribuição da diminuição da ansiedade, dores, e aceitação do tratamento.
This article aims to understand the importance of aesthetics in palliative care as an element in restoring self-esteem and quality of life for patients who are terminally ill and no longer have a therapeutic possibility of cure. The use of aesthetic therapies can be very valuable for the patient, as it takes care of their well-being, enhancing their image, and contributing to a less painful process of death. In this context, working on aesthetics and cosmetics associated with palliative care can contribute positively to the psychological relief of patients, using techniques such as visagism, micropigmentation, makeup, among others. In this sense, aesthetics can work together with other professionals, aiming to promote the health of the patient and guarantee them not only physical well-being, but mainly emotional well-being. At the end of the study, it was observed that there are many techniques to be used by the professional, which involve relieving pain, symptoms, skin care, hair, which even though they are not directly linked to the treatment, contribute to the patient feeling better. The aesthetics professional within this context, presents himself as a fundamental element in the multidisciplinary team, as he contributes to a better quality of life for patients, acting to contribute to the reduction of anxiety, pain, and acceptance of treatment.
